A
s previously reported in the October/November edition of Northwest Aerospace News, aerospace organizations
representing Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and British Columbia convened at Paine Field in Everett, Washington
on September 11, 2018 to open the doors for increased collaboration. The Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance (PNAA)
led efforts to bring industry organizations — trade associations, workforce development groups, economic development
entities, and higher education partners — to the table in the effort to explore opportunities for working together to ensure
that the Pacific Northwest maintains its role as the world’s largest and leading aerospace cluster.
PNAA Deputy Executive Director, Fiona McKay, explained, “The region is blessed with a wealth of talent and opportunity
in aerospace, but that by no means can be taken for granted. Only by combining the strengths of the different alliances can
we truly provide the finest deliverables to our aerospace community. Collaboration across organizations sets a precedent
for collaboration across the region, which is crucial to the continued success of the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Cluster.”
