about 75 employees, and a growth plan
of hiring about 20 more in Redmond —
mostly engineers — magniX is a going
concern. They are in Redmond because
of the existing aerospace infrastructure —
the workforce, educational system, and
employment.
Ganzarski is optimistic about both
transportation and shipments between
small regional airports. He also envisions
more opportunity for college campuses to bring in employers, via regional airports and open development centers in a
small-town campus like Central Washington University in Ellensburg, or Gonzaga and Eastern Washington University
in Spokane.
The company is 10 years old and was founded in Australia when electric buses, trains and industrial engines were start-
ing to take hold. Some years later, an electric motor producing 350 horsepower, turning at 2500 RPMs and weighing a
mere 110 pounds was created. This high power-to-weight ratio led to aviation investigations taking place.
