S ince Jamco America is a Tier 1 supplier to Boeing, they work with many suppliers in Washington State to produce products. Some of them are: Universal Aerospace (Arlington), Cobalt (Everett), Multifab Man- ufacturing (Spokane Valley), GM Nameplate (Seattle), Canon, Triumph Composites (Spokane), and Pentz Cast Solutions (Duvall). Yeates cites the company culture as a differentiator in the marketplace. “It’s a great product; it’s on every wide-body aircraft; we can touch the whole world with our products. We need to be competitive with compen- sation, but the family feel of this company is a differentiator. The glass ceiling is starting to fall away and we have opportunities to perform in current positions.” He added in response to market fluctuations, that in the Japanese culture, “There is less of a knee-jerk reaction when the market fluctuates. If they are good employees and want to contribute, they have the potential to work here for a lifetime. Some employees have been here 15-20 years.” The consistency in contract and performance is a good thing for their 414 employees. At Jamco America, there is nothing that sounds forced, jammed, or crushed — in fact, just the opposite is occurring — a solid and steady business with necessary aerospace market deliverables.
