Fish River from Rt. 11 to Eagle Lake
If you are looking for a short morning paddle to start the day or
an evening paddle to end the day, this is it.
Put in at Rt. 11 at the bridge, MAG 67 E5, on the south side of the
bridge. It’s a short paddle down the river to Eagle Lake, 2.5 miles.
Once on Eagle Lake, turn west (left) and head down the shoreline
to the public boat landing located on Old Main St., about 1 mile.
On the river, you will see beavers, muskrats, eagles and
occasionally a moose. The fl ats near the mouth of the river at the
lake are a popular spot to pick fi ddleheads, a regional delicacy, in
the spring of the year. Baring having to stop and pick fi ddleheads,
you can do this trip in a couple of hours.
Picturesque Eagle Lake.
