They receive the same world class training and develop the same skills as their regular counterparts , which means they can carry out their roles to the same exacting high standards . Training takes place throughout the year , much of which can directly benefit the employer when they return to their civilian jobs .
The Royal Air Force Reserves make up a significant element of the nation ’ s defence capacity and are called upon as individuals for their specialist skills or as ready formed units when required . Royal Air Force Reservists are currently supporting operations worldwide as well as making a vital contribution to the pandemic response here in the UK .
