Program Highlights:
Education Career Pathway Expansion – White Bear Lake Area Schools was one of only 14 recipients statewide and one of five districts awarded a Grow Your Own( GYO) grant from the Minnesota Department of Education. This funding enhances our Education Career Pathway by supporting the new Future Bear Educators program. In partnership with Minneapolis College’ s School of Education, students can earn college credit while completing high school requirements.
International Collaboration – In October, White Bear Lake Area High School welcomed seven visitors from the Pacific Islands through the International Visitor Leadership Program, sponsored by the U. S. Department of State. The visit focused on STEM and Healthcare curriculum development, with guests touring state-of-the-art STEM and CNA( Certified Nursing Assistant)
learning spaces and engaging with students and educators.
Test Drive Reality Fair – High school juniors explored real-world financial decisions at this event, hosted in collaboration with Royal Credit Union. Students learned to navigate expenses like housing, insurance and food based on chosen career fields and salaries, helping them gain insights into post-high school planning.
Mock Interviews – In partnership with the Career Pathways Program, tenth-grade Language Arts students developed cover letters and resumes before participating in mock interviews. District staff, community members and industry partners provided valuable feedback to help students build confidence and professional communication skills.
Through these experiences, White Bear Lake Area Schools continues to prepare students for success in college, careers and beyond.
