restaurant spotlight ROGERS ROUNDHOUSE Rogers Roundhouse is a bar and kitchen that just opened in Fort Worth this April. Located at 1616 Rogers Road, it is situated behind University Park Village, just minutes from the Trinity Trail and a stone’s throw from Davidson Yard, one of the oldest and most prominent railyards in the nation. Rogers Roundhouse celebrates the historic relationship between Fort Worth and the railroad industry, and is named after the Davidson Yard’s retired engine repair facility, or round- house. Though it was decommissioned decades ago, the roundhouse at Davidson Yard is still visible in modern aerial photographs and is a major part of the city’s heritage. At about 10,000-square-feet, the venue features both indoor and outdoor seating, complete with a spacious, dog-friendly patio and TVs throughout. The kitchen serves a variety of Texas staples, and the bar offers 30 rotating draft beers and patio sip- pers, like frozen margaritas. The dessert menu features Curly’s Frozen Custard. The co-owners are Fort Worth residents Tommy Koons and Bourke Harvey. Koons is a successful bar and restaurant oper- ator and Harvey is a local business owner, known about town especially for his dessert destination, Curly’s Frozen Custard. Koons and Harvey love Fort Worth’s authentic, small-town feel, and have created a space that feels like an extension of your own backyard – somewhere to hang out and enjoy good food and drinks with friends and family, any day of the week. 14 NORTH TEXAS DENTISTRY | www.northtexasdentistry.com
