Millions of people of all ages suffer from a condition
classified as sleep disordered breathing with obstructed
sleep apnea being the most prevalent.
“It’s life-changing for patients. I have seven videos I have col-
lected so far — patients who’ve agreed to allow me to document
their progress on video. Three of them are just one week into
their treatment. Even in that one week, their lives have changed.
Dr. Scott is one of the many pioneers in the
field of craniofacial sleep medicine. But she
is not alone. Doctors all across the country
are discovering the possibilities offered by
the Vivos ® System.
The other four have been in the appliance for several months.
They’re breathing better, their blood sugar’s gone down — it’s
incredible. One patient had permanent nerve damage after hav-
ing her wisdom teeth extracted several years ago — permanent
numbness in her lip and on her tongue. Since she started the
Vivos ® System in October, the feeling has come back in her face,
and the numbness is gone completely in her tongue.
I have another patient who was seeing stars because he was lit-
erally choking to death. In one week, the stars disappeared. He’s
sleeping better — seeing huge improvements — in one week!
I’m just super, super happy with the way that this has grown.
I can help my patients in ways that I never could before.”
The hour that I spent with Dr. Scott was inspiring and exciting.
I am also committed to this mission. I became Chief Evangelist
at Vivos ® in 2017. I left a 30-year career in technology to join
this company for one very important reason – my why.

On October 27, 2015, I kissed my wife for the very last time. She
drifted off to sleep and sometime around midnight she passed
away. Carrie Eckenrode, my wife of 15 years and mother to our
four children, died from sleep apnea. But that is not her entire
story. She suffered from nine of the comorbidities linked to
sleep apnea. She lived a very difficult life. She suffered from
chronic depression and anxiety most of her life. Chronic pain,
fibromyalgia, heart disease, and chronic sinusitis. And although
each of these conditions caused trauma and pain in her life, it
was her poor self-image that was the most difficult to watch.
You see, she believed she was ugly. She thought she had a big
nose. In reality, she suffered from mandibular retrognathia her
entire life, making her nose appear big.
Meeting Dr. Scott and having the opportunity to discuss her
mission and her practice inspired me. The national network of
dentists who are integrating the Vivos ® System into their prac-
tices inspires me.
We are on a mission to rid the world of this pervasive and
potentially deadly disease. More importantly, for me at least,
we are making it so another daddy, in another time, never has
to explain to his three-year old, “I don’t know sweetie, I thought
it was just snoring!”
The Vivos ® System offers that kind of hope. It offers dentists
the opportunity to help their patients in a whole new way.
I invite you to join me in this mission.
