TDA news
Introducing
TDA’s
Dr. Mary Swift
G
reetings. I am your newly appointed
Northeast Division junior TDA board
member. I’ve just started my first
year of a three-year term on the TDA
board. As a board member I had the
privilege of attending the annual TDA
Leadership program in Austin. Every
year, your presidents, vice presidents, directors,
committee and council members journey to
Austin for an update from the ADA, a briefing
on current TDA legislative issues, introduc-
tions, and team building.

North Texas Dentistry readers were well-represented at the
Leadership Conference. Your TDA President Elect, Dr. Bill
Gerlach, has a practice in Plano. Bill is well-respected by the
Board and serves with a diplomatic ease that exudes leadership.
Vice President Dr. Jacqueline Plemons, a periodontist in
Dallas and faculty TAMSD, wears several impressive hats on the
board and she works tirelessly for the honor of our profession.
Visit TDA.org
for a complete list of the movers and shakers that
represent you in Austin. Log on to TDA.org and look
under the “About TDA” tab to find a complete roster
of your elected and appointed officials. There may be
someone you know or went to dental school with
serving on a committee or council. Leadership is
always looking for young dentists with fresh ideas to
bring to the table. Anyone interested is encouraged to
reach out to your local dental society or to anyone
already serving for direction and encouragement.
