NEWS & notes Dr. Alana K. Macalik and her team helped kids start school right at Mansfield ISD’s Back to School Bash! Dr. Alana K. Macalik’s team had the privilege to participate at the second an- nual Mansfield ISD Back to School Bash which was held on August 12 th at the Center for the Performing Arts. This event allows the community to come together to help provide kids with school supplies and other services. Our hy- gienist, Kendall, provided fluoride treatments while educating hundreds of kids about their oral health. Throughout the day, our office handed out tooth- brushes and toothpaste and talked with kids on the importance of brushing and flossing their teeth. We had so much fun playing games with the kids and educating them about their dental health. Our team is always excited to have the opportunity to give back to our community. Thank you to the many community members who have helped us to date. DHA is a safety net solution for all ages in our clinic and provides emergency dental treatment, as well as comprehensive care to the disadvantaged neighbors in our com- munity. Last year alone, we were able to serve over 3,000 individuals in our clinic and an additional 7,000 in our school-based sealant program, SMILES!
