Want to Attract
More Patients?
Ask Yourself These 5 Questions
by Marc Fowler
Your practice website is your virtual front door that most people will walk
through long before they will ever set foot inside your office.
When it comes to creating a website that will turn a visitor into a booked
appointment while keeping Google’s search algorithms happy, you must
consider how your practice website looks and performs.
Whether you are building the first website for your practice, or re-designing an
older, existing website, there are several
questions you should ask. Here are five
of the most important.
1
Is it mobile-friendly?
This is the most important
question you need to know
about your website. Here are
two reasons why:
Reason #14
Google just announced that as of April 21st,
2015, their algorithm will favor mobilefriendly websites. This means your website’s mobile “friendliness” (how well your
site can be viewed on mobile devices like
an iPhone or Android device), will now be
a definite ranking factor when Google
decides which websites appear in the top
spots when someone does a search.
Reason #24
More and more people are using their
mobile devices to search for the things that
they need, including dental services.
According to the Local Search Association,
in March of this year, 60% of all searches
for local products and services occurred on
a mobile device. If prospective patients
can’t easily access what they need on your
site (or worse, can’t even find your site),
you’ll be bypassed for the practice that does
have a mobile-friendly site.

If you aren’t sure your site is mobilefriendly, take out your iPhone or Android
device and type in your site address in
the browser. What does the site look like?
Would you like to use your site on a mobile
phone? If you need to “zoom” and “pinch”
the screen to even read the text, chances
are, your site isn’t mobile-friendly and
your online marketing efforts are paying
the price.

Does it have what potential patients are looking
for?

they said, “One of the most
important elements to building
an online marketing strategy around
SEO is empathy for your audience. Once
you grasp what your target market is
looking for, you can more effectively
