NEWS & notes Dr. Moody Alexander Named by Fort Worth Business Press as a 2015 Healthcare Hero The Fort Worth Business Press honored the winners of its 2015 Healthcare Heroes Award at an event at the Fort Worth Club on January 28. This annual event recognizes excellence in the medical community. Congratulations to Dr. Moody Alexander of Drs. Alexander Orthodontics for being selected for this prestigious award. Healthcare Heroes are selected and judged based on nominations from those in the profession and the business community. Drs. Alexander Orthodontics celebrates a half century in practice this year. The family-owned practice was started in 1964 by R.G. “Wick” Alexander, then continued by his son Dr. Chuck Alexander who now practices in Colorado. The practice continues today under the leadership of his son Dr. Moody Alexander. Dr. Moody Alexander notes, “Fifty years in practice means a lot to me and our family. More than 17,000 patients have walked through these doors in the last 50 years. We’ve truly had the opportunity of making generations smile since 1964.” A New Era for LGT Begins DALLAS - Lee Ann Collins, a partner at Lane Gorman Trubitt, PLLC (LGT) and a well-known leader in the Dallas/Fort Worth accounting industry, has been named the fourth managing partner of LGT in its 65 years of business. She will support the partners to ensure they have all that’s needed to be successful while overseeing the day-to-day operations and long-term planning for the firm. Mrs. Collins replaces Bob Knight who served as the managing part- 24 NORTH TEXAS DENTISTRY | www.northtexasdentistry.com Dr. R.G. “Wick” Alexander and his son Dr. Moody Alexander ner for 15 years. Knight will remain a partner at LGT to help assist her as needed to guarantee a smooth transition. “LGT’s success has always been based on the team efforts of our people. Inevitably, any change in leadership will take us in new directions. Lee Ann’s leadership style brings out the best in those with which she works, and I know she will be a positive influence in guiding LGT going forward,” said Knight. Mrs. Collins acquired her BBA in accounting from Abilene Christian University. After graduating in 1982, she began working primarily on clients in the construction industry at Dohm & Wolff which merged into LGT in 1987. She began working with LGT in the audit department but later transitioned to the accounting and consulting department (ACS), where she became the department leader. Since, she has made a large impact on the overall success of the firm and held various leadership roles at the firm and with various construction organizations in the Dallas community.
