but dental health care professionals need to be aware and knowledgeable of the stipulations for both entities. It has proven to be difficult for dental professionals to find the requirements necessary because of the vast amount of material one has to research to find the vital information that is applicable. A major challenge with OSHA is that much of the instruction pertains to other industries outside of dental. Recently, OSHA added a page for dental professionals to access on the www.osha.gov website. This is very helpful to see what new regulations and guidelines are specific to our industry. One new OSHA provision is an amendment to the Hazard Communication Standard. This new Standard is called the Globally Harmonized system of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.
