Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) was introduced in 1993 by Dr. Torabinejad. Since then, many studies about this material have been published. It has been suggested for root-end filling, vital pulp therapy, apical plug, perforations repair, and root canal filling. Very few materials in dentistry possess such flexibility to be used in so many different circumstances.
