Periodyne: A Breakthrough
in Periodontal Care
When scaling just isn’t enough
Introducing The Periodyne System: A safe, new option to naturally support the health of your gums
A Conversation with Dr. Kim Vanderlinden,
President of Periodyne LLC and LuLu Stavinoha,
Publisher of North Texas Dentistry
LS: Dr. Vanderlinden, please share your excitement
about this new product. What is Periodyne?
KV: Periodyne is a natural gingival product that patients use
at home. The application only takes a couple of seconds, so
patient compliance is excellent. Periodyne is comprised of a
patented combination of cetylated oils that are placed directly
on the gums. In all of our research studies, the results have
demonstrated a profound gingival benefit. The science is terrific.
LS: Tell us how you see Periodyne helping patients
and the dental team?
KV: Our results clearly show that Periodyne can greatly benefit
the gingiva. In our most recent study, all the patients still had
red, swollen gingival tissue despite receiving regular hygiene
care. Having been a hygienist yourself, you know that this is
very common.

We asked the question – in addition to regular hygiene, can
anything be done to benefit the gingival tissue between appointments?
If patients could return with pinker and healthier gingiva, then
they would be much less sensitive during hygiene appointments. In turn, it is certainly far less stressful for hygienists to
work on a more comfortable patient. My wife, who is a hygienist, says that working on patients with sensitive gingiva is the
most stressful part of her day.
LS:
What did you find in your recently completed
multi-center clinical trial?
KV: First of all, the benefits for patients occurred quickly, in
just one month. Bleeding on probing was reduced by more than
80%. Plus, more than 40% of the pockets that were deeper than
3mm were reduced to 3mm. We are very excited about these
numbers. This is a very short timeframe in which to see such
great improvement.
The hygienists and dentists comments were very consistent. It
was very encouraging to see that they all reported much healthier gingival tissue.
