Our theme this year is “ Actionable Learning ”. We have put together a program packed with information you and your team can take back to the office on Monday and put right into play . It has been a difficult year for our team members to find CE . It ’ s also been difficult for us to gather outside the office for team building activities . The Southwest Dental Conference will be an excellent venue for both .
Returning this year is the ever-popular CE Express . Lecture topics change on the hour , which allows you to pick up a CE credit with each lecture in addition to enjoying time on the showroom floor .
We have some new , young first-time presenters this year . I ’ m especially excited about Dr . Steven Bender . Dr . Bender has a faculty practice at Texas A & M College of Dentistry in the Orofacial Pain Clinic . In his lecture , “ From Triage to Treatment ”, Dr . Bender will be teaching us how to diagnose the origin of a patient ’ s pain to provide appropriate treatment .
Also new this year is Dr . John Wallace . Dr . Wallace is one of only a handful of surgeons using the X-NAV , a computer-driven robot , to navigate the surgical placement of implants .
We also have Dr . Tracey Nguyen presenting a pediatric symposium focusing on airway management of the pediatric patient .
Dr . Nguyen will show us what tools and strategies we need to diagnose and manage airway issues in our young patients .
We also have some big crowd pleasers and meeting favorites returning . Dr . Bill Robbins will be with us presenting his global diagnosis and treatment planning lecture . I ’ ve heard Dr . Robbins speak several times and he always has valuable and actionable information to share . Dr . Robbins is one of the most sought-after speakers on the circuit . Come see why .
If you can , make sure you get to Laci Phillips ’ class on Communication , Coding , and Collections . Talk about “ actionable learning ”! I promise you will not be able to write fast enough to keep up with all the useful information that will be pouring out of her lecture .
One of my favorite programs at this year ’ s conference is the “ MAC ” class . Dr . Mac McDonald will present his “ Master Assisting ” class . This program is designed to take your chairside assistant from ordinary to extraordinary and I promise he / she will have a blast .
