Indians win with late trick play, 27-22
September 20, 2013 - When North Side freshman
running back Tedarius Wilson got tackled behind
the line of scrimmage on a late fourth down play,
it looked like Ripley had held the Indians with a
game-clinching defensive stand.
“He’s a good player, so I knew he would step in and
take over the role,” Love said. “He did not stop. He
did not stop at all. He’s a freshman and he just keeps
grinding.”
Ripley’s Enrique Barbee, in fact, picked up a fumbled snap and ran about 50 yards for a touchdown
to tie the game at 20 with seven minutes left. A twopoint conversion run by Quadareon Glass gave
Ripley a 22-20 lead.
