I it ’ s here – the first issue of the North Port Athletic Rewind since its six-year hiatus . This preview issue highlights some old news and current news to give readers and the community a chance to understand what the NPAR is about . For those who do not know , the North Port Athletic Rewind first launched in 2010 as a print tabloid covering North Port High School athletics . I printed seven issues , before deciding to pause the publication .
Since the NPAR last printed , I have gained more experience in the field of public relations , communication and marketing . As a senior at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers , I will obtain my bachelor ’ s degree in communication with a concentration in public relations . I will graduate this May with honors and become inducted in the National Society of Leadership and Success .
Industry professionals have advised me as to when and how I should re-launch the NPAR .
This time around , it is my goal to unite the community through sports and recreation . That means not just covering NPHS athletics , but I plan to cover all athletics from high school ( JV and varsity ), middle school , youth leagues , travel teams , recreational sports , and more .
The support I have received from the community thus far has been great , and I truly appreciate the positive comments . I am open to suggestions , comments and feedback to make this a positive asset to the community .
