Larry Taylor hosted the second
annual Vertical Vision basketball
camp on April 22 and 23. More
than 50 children participated in the camp
that focused on elite skill training.
Taylor was not alone in coaching, though.
Two of Taylor’s former college teammates,
Josue Celestine and Matthew Crowe,
assisted with the camp, as well as Taylor’s
father, Kurt.
During each session, Taylor applied skills
that he learned throughout his high school
and college career. Beside teaching
basketball fundamentals, Taylor also focused
on applying key principles as part of his
Vertical Vision movement.
Through the key principles, Taylor discussed
the importance of becoming a leader, serving
others and showing simple acts of kindness.

“I advised campers to never put a ceiling on
their potential,” Taylor said.
According to Taylor, he advised older youth
on what it takes to not only succeed in
sports, but in life as well.
“I told them to be able, at any time or
moment, to sacrifice what you are for
what you will become,” Taylor said. “Pain is
temporary — it may last upwards a day or
a year - but eventually it will subside and
something else will take its place. If you quit,
however, it will last forever.”
Taylor plans to host additional basketball
training this summer. For more information,
