unting season for turkeys is coming up in north Idaho on April
15 2016 thru May 25th and you can obtain two tom turkey tags in
north Idaho. As always, defer to the Idaho Fish and Game for rules
and regulations - http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/ . Lots of birds in Bonner and
Boundary counties and most farms and ranches allow you to hunt if you just
inquire. Whether or not you gun hunt, or archery hunt it is a great time to be out
in the woods calling in birds. Soak up the spring sun, or spring rain.
Tom’s Turkey Tip: I love to just set up in natural cover versus using a blind so
I carry clippers and a saw to build blinds in the woods. Good camo and good
calls will get the job done. Some of my best hunts have happened in the
middle of the day after the hens have gone to nest and lonesome Toms
are looking for love.
