As I was wrestling with this thought and trying to decide what to do, I happened to be browsing through Mathews’ annual sales catalog and noticed that they offered their Z2 model in several different draw weight configurations. Among these was the option to order this particular bow with 65 pound limbs. I have always been a fan of the “classic” Mathews look: single cam, solid limbs, and a short axleto-axle. The Z2 fit this image to a T. It seemed to have everything I was looking for so I placed an order for a left handed, 65-pound Z2 in their Lost Camo pattern. When the bow showed up, I was immediately impressed. The camo on this Mathews was flawless, it was just a really good looking bow! The 30 inch axle-to-axle looked like it would work fantastic when I was sitting in my tree stand waiting out big whitetails here in Washington, and I have no doubt it would work equally as well for anyone wanting to spot and stalk. It didn’t take long before I was chomping at the bit to set this thing up! I threw on a Trophy Taker SmackDown Pro rest, centered everything up, and went into the range to take a few shots through paper. Drawing the 65 pounds felt like the perfect compromise; not too light, but not so heavy it hurt. I felt like I could shoot all afternoon!
