Archery Lead: Dan Watts-Messick
Growing up in the sage choked country just outside of Pasco, Washington there wasn’t much for a
young boy to do besides shoot bows or BB-guns. My dad had been a bow hunter since the late 70’s,
so it was only natural that he would put a bow in my hands at an early age. I am 27 now and have
been shooting bows in one form or another (both traditional and compound) for the last 20 years.
I don’t think either of my parents had any idea that I would catch the archery bug as badly as I did,
but I’ve been fired up since I watched that first arrow sail clean over the bale in our pasture. I started working on bows professionally in 2007 and the occupation has only helped to stoke the flames.
This really is my passion.
One brand that I am excited to showcase in our stores is Xpedition Archery. They are a smaller bow
manufacturer with a history of manufacturing aerospace parts, but they’re making waves in the
archery industry in a big way. They produce one of the finest shooting bows I’ve had the opportunity
to handle. We also just picked up a dealership with Mathews, which is big, locally. We’ve only had one
other Mathews dealer in Spokane for a long time. It’s great to have a company that is manufacturing
such an incredible product put their faith in our shops.
My other archery tech, Alan, and I both share a passion for this sport that is infectious. We’ve got a
lot of combined knowledge, and together we’re really excited to help grow the sport in our community. I love getting youth and women involved in the sport, and I know we’re both fired up to use our
shop here in Mead as a spring board to get more people in the woods and on the range in our local
area. I also do my best to push both Alan and myself to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service; no question is too small or task too big. We’re here to help and we will do everything
that we can to make sure that our customers’ needs are met.
Our team in Mead will do anything we can to provide the best experience possible at our shop, even
if you’re not in to spend a dime. I truly feel that this is where a lot of other shops leave a sour taste
in their customers’ mouths. If you aren’t there to spend money, they aren’t there to \
