Mia Sheppard
In 1996, Mia acquired a serious interest in fly fishing. Later, in 2001, Marty
Sheppard,her husband introduced her to two-handed Spey casting—a pursuit that
forged Mia’s connection and admiration to Oregon’s wild steelhead and mastering
casting a fly-rod. Finally, in 2003, the couple purchased Little Creek Outfitters, an
established guide service, where they continue the tradition of guiding anglers to the
region’s steelhead, trout, and smallmouth bass.
Always committed to conservation, Mia is a river steward for the Native Fish
Society, Conservation Chairman of the International Women’s Fly Fishers and
supporter of the Deschutes River Alliance, Oregon Wildlife Foundation, and Casting
for Recovery. She’s ambassador for Simms Fishing, Winston Rods, Airflo, Costa,
Keep’em Wet Fishing and Bogg’s Trailbutter.
Brian SilvEy
I have been involved in the fly fishing industry in many facets over the years. I love
my job and when I have “down time” from guiding, you can find me enjoying the
river, fishing... or rock hunting... with my son and daughter, or simply enjoying the
surrounding beauty of the area.
Fred Telleen
I live to fish and have spent 25 years guiding anglers to great days on the water.
For me, it’s an obsession. At the age of two, I captured my first bluegill in southern
Michigan. I caught my first wild trout shortly after in Glacier National Park. I spent
much of my youth chasing fish in Wisconsin, the Great Lakes area and Canada. I
went to Alaska in 1989 and started guiding. Alaska is where I also met my wife and
started a family. Today we call Great Falls home while I manage the North 40 Fly
Shop. Stop by the shop, anytime, and we can talk fish, bear encounters, and my
experience with Bigfoot.
ZacK Williams
Zack Williams is a guide and Spey casting instructor on Idaho’s Clearwater and
Washington’s Grande Ronde Rivers. He also is the editor/publisher of Swing the Fly
magazine. He lives in Pullman, WA with his wife Kelly and chocolate labs Pate and
Violet.
