in my steelhead carreer. Some anglers swear by
lighter tippet, but I believe the dif-ference between
12-pound test and a lighter strength tippet doesn’t
make a difference to the fish.

If you want to skate flies or swing some
light wets for these early season steelhead on
the Ronde and Clearwater, come into the shop
and we’ll set you up and give you a chance to
cast a couple rods. No matter which setup
you choose, remember it’s catch-and-release
only for steelhead and you need a steelhead
permit to chase them. w
