ON ALASKA’S KANEKTOK

Be sure, I’ve caught an absolute mega-pile of
silver salmon in my angling career, enough to
even be considered as a stupid, dumb-dumb
amount. And one factor never changes—it
never gets old!
Alaska is my favorite destination
and the 907 hosts a multitude of out-
standing venues to pursue “Silvey
Silverson.” Over the past two
seasons I’ve visited a couple
of the premier places to rail
on these critters, the Tsiu
River (south of Cordo-
va) and the vaunted
Kanektok River in
far-western Alaska.
The Tsiu was
outstanding,
partic-
ularly for average size
silvers. Honestly, I don’t
think I saw more than two
under 10 pounds with most
running 12-to 14 pounds. Being
so ultra-close to saltwater, the
