Attach your thread. I like to start well
behind the eye and advance forward
to mark where the head should end.
This helps me ensure I will not crowd
the eye.
Secure the tag of small oval tinsel.
Three wraps of the tinsel is what you
see here. Tie off and trim.
Advance your thread to where you
would like the floss tag to end.
Secure the floss. Wrap back to the
oval tinsel and forward again to the
tie in point. This should give you a
nice, even floss tag. Tie off and trim.
Next, mount the Golden Pheasant
Crest as close to vertical as possible.
Secure with a few loose wraps
before tightening. This should help
keep the tail upright and on top of
the hook. I like the tail to be slightly
shorter than the hook.
Secure the medium oval tinsel.
