For those of you who know,

or know of Calvin, it is no secret that he is not a
slouch when it comes to fly casting. Before I ever
made acquaintances with him, it was always his
casting abilities that defined him among different
circles of fisherman and friends.
I have grown quite tired of the repetitive comments
in these circles. “He can cast a 5wt well into the
backing” “His timing is near perfect” “Leftys have a
better casting stroke” Blah Blah Blah… ENOUGH!
I’M LEFT HANDED! I HAVE THE LONG GANGLY
ARMS FOR CASTING! I’M SICK OF HEARING IT!
I have begun a countdown to the next North 40 Fly
Shop Summit where we have a casting competition
with all of our staff. The casting competition will
no longer be such a breeze anymore.
