MEET OUR CONTRIBUTORS

I ’ m Anna Rowe , a junior at the University of Oklahoma . There , I ’ m currently studying Professional Writing and Music . In addition to my love of writing and singing , I also enjoy showing Morgan horses ! As a native Oklahoman , I was luckily raised somewhere with no shortage of horses . When my nose isn ’ t in a book and I ’ m not on a horse , you can usually fi nd me spending time with friends and family .
Anne Cosgrove Wimberly moved to Norman in 2018 . After a lengthy career as a laundress , sweeper , dishwasher , and kid picker upper , she enrolled in graduate school . She is earning her Master of Professional Writing degree from the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma and hopes to graduate in December 2023 . When she is not writing , she enjoys reading , cycling , and gardening , and spending time with her family .
Brenna Sawney is a Cherokee citizen as well as a student fi lmmaker and photographer at Gaylord College at the University of Oklahoma .
Doug Hill has been a Norman resident since moving here from Kansas City in 1983 . He ’ s an alum of the University of Kansas and the University of Oklahoma . Hill has been married to Barbara Hill for 45 years and they have two offspring raised here who are now big shots in Chicago and Kansas City . Hill enjoys bicycling , motorcycling , cooking and listening to music from opera to punk rock .
Katie Hallum grew up in Tahlequah , OK , and is a member of the Cherokee Nation . She ’ s received education from the Cherokee Immersion Charter School , Sequoyah Indian High School , and is currently a student at the University of Oklahoma studying journalism and international security . She currently writes for Gaylord News and the OU Daily .

Melanie Wilderman is an associate professor of journalism at the Gaylord College of
Journalism at OU who got her professional start in community newspapers in the Midwest City / Choctaw area . More recently she writes as a freelancer for a variety of Oklahoma magazines and has written works for the stage in Norman and Oklahoma City . She and her husband , Ted , live in Norman with two ( ill-behaved ) dachshunds , Echo and Chaco .
My name is Riley Rowe , and I ’ m a student at the University of Oklahoma . I ’ m currently majoring in Physics and Math with a minor in Digital Marketing . When I ’ m not doing rocket science or solving equations , I love to take photos , spend time with friends , and show horses . I ’ ve been riding Morgan horses since childhood , and I can ’ t imagine my life without it .

Former city news reporter Staci Elder Hensley is a freelance writer , editor and columnist .
A graduate of OU she writes for several local publications and has managed public relations and media for the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department , the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity . She also is a prior columnist for The Daily Oklahoman and Distinctly Oklahoma magazine . Hensley has received multiple state and national awards for her work .
