“... another tool in the toolbox .”

Julia Christopher-White , DVM
Christopher-White said when a part of the body such as a leg is injured , and an animal limps to compensate , other parts of the body may start to hurt .
“ We want to help the body go back to being more symmetrical , and allow it to move more correctly as it heals ,” Christopher-White said .
Some may think of chiropractic care as something one does when their back hurts , but Christopher-White said it can serve a broader purpose .
“ It will treat a back that is sore , but it helps the whole body ,” Christopher-White said .
That ’ s where the chiropractic adjustment comes in , but it rarely takes just a single session .
After regular adjustments , Christopher-White sees animals able to perform better and exercise better . And if they have a job , they tend to do that more efficiently .
“ It helps to , number one , maintain the body better , and number two , if there is something wrong , it helps us apply physician therapy correctly ,” White said . “ If there ’ s something specifically arthritic , we might be able to wean off a western medicine type of modality .”
While she has seen chiropractic do some amazing things for animals , she often deploys other methods to help care for them . Her practice additionally offers general medicine , lameness , reproduction , sports medicine and acupuncture services .
“ Chiropractic medicine is just another tool in the toolbox ,” she said .
