As the economy has changed in recent years , Boetcher said rentals offer people who are working on smaller projects or who don ’ t have the financial ability to purchase the opportunity to use equipment to get agricultural tasks done efficiently .
Boetcher said customers come to GP Rents often on Fridays to rent equipment for their weekend projects in the yard . If picked up toward the end of day on Friday and returned before eight hours of business day use , only a one-day charge accrues .
While the winter months may bring a drop in sales , Reed said the Great Plains team is busy year round with customers coming in for maintenance service of lawn mowers and equipment . The Great Plains team offers incentives on service during those months .
To facilitate a shorter time between dropoff and pickup of serviced equipment , adding different specials throughout the winter months ensures customers aren ’ t coming in for maintenance at the same time . Boetcher said they want customers to be prepared and get the most out of what they have .
“ We want to make sure we catch any needed repairs before the upcoming season ,” Boetcher said .
Birkle said no matter the agricultural project , she and the Great Plains family want to treat the communities they operate in as part of it .
“ We always make sure to take care of our customers ,” Birkle said
Clark said the business carries on the dedication to service instilled in the family by his grandfather , Martin Clark .
“ I can still hear him telling me to ‘ take care of your customers , and they will take care of you ,’ and that ’ s the foundation of our family tradition of being a servant ,” he said .
