They sell equipment all over the world and drive through the U . S . and Canada doing service calls . I can call them or send a video if something is wrong with a machine and they ’ ll give me repair suggestions .” |

Morehead is angling for Scissortail to open and attract folks during Second Friday Art Walks . She ’ s done a pop-up shop at a nearby brewery and recognizes that other businesses north of Main Street are feeling the Art Walk love .

“ The Norman fiber arts community is quite varied ,” Morehead said . “ There are the Fiber Artists of Oklahoma doing great pieces of art and structural sculptures in fiber with multiple materials . Then there ’ s your average knitter and crocheter making socks for Christmas gifts . I ’ ve seen an artist who does embroidery over paintings which are just beautiful .” |
Scissortail ’ s Belfast equipment was manufactured in 2003 and involves technology both new and decades old .
“ The yarn we make is used by hobbyists to create ,” she said . “ In this day and age you don ’ t get to create a lot of things and

“ It ’ s a central location and people can get here easily because we ’ re right off I-35 ,” Morehead said . “ Some people drive from Texas or Kansas to drop off their fiber instead of shipping it . It ’ s a great place for a retail yarn store because we ’ re the only one in town |
