L’histoire d’Opel commence avec Adam Opel (1837-
1895) qui crée une fabrique de machines à coudre
en 1862. Deux de ses fils en diversifient l’activité et
commencent la production d'automobiles avec la
Opel Patent Motor Car en 1899.
De 1914 à 1928, Opel est le leader des constructeurs
allemands grâce à la modernisation de son outil de
production.
En 1929, General Motors rachète
la marque au "Blitz" (logo représentant un éclair)
puis revend l'entreprise d'envergure internationale,
au groupe PSA, en 2017.
Opel's history begins with Adam Opel (1837-1895)
who founded a sewing machine factory in 1862.
Two of his sons diversified the activity in 1899 and
began the automobile production with the Opel
Patent Motor Car, System Lutzmann.
From 1914 to 1928 Opel was the leading German
manufacturer thanks to the modernization of its
production process.
In 1929, Opel is acquired by General Motors, then
sold to the PSA Group in 2017.
