Since 1970, Norev is involved in the world of motor races by sponsoring prestigious drivers: Jimmy Mieusset, Henri Pescarolo on Surtees and Jacques Lafitte on Ligier.

In 1977, hardly 1 year after its creation, the French team Ligier-Gitanes won a great victory at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Sweden. It celebrates for the first time Guy Ligier and Jacques Lafitte driving the JS 7 under the Norev banner.
