Tapiola Group: Facelift for Tapiola Centre The revitalisation of Tapiola commercial centre has been launched with the advent of new metro line, new underground parking and upgraded bus terminal. One of the key corporate players in the Finnish real estate field, Tapiola Group, is keen on developing commercial premises on Merituulentie street area at Tapiola business district. Vesa Immonen, Managing Director of Tapiola Real Estate Ltd., is expecting big things from the future: “The Tapiola Centre keeps developing intensely with regard to its commercial and communal services, traffic conditions and living environments.” T apiola Group is also one of the most significant property owners in the area and remains fully committed to the development of the neighbourhood which is culturally, commercially and historically unique. The Group is, for instance, aiming to place specialty stores into the new parts of the commercial centre, believing that the new offering will complement the current service mix. The new Tapiola Centre will be built according to the principles of sustainable development. This is a joint consensus of both Tapiola Real Estate Ltd. and City of Espoo. District Cooling Enters Espoo At the end of 2011, Tapiola Real Estate Ltd. entered into an agreement with Fortum for the delivery and installation of an energyefficient district cooling grid to the Tapiola centre area. The new cooling system will effectively minimise
