Using the ultrasound as a guide, the surgeon
will thread the catheter into the uterine artery
that is supplying blood to the fibroids
Small particles will flow through the
catheter, blocking the arteries and the
blood flow, causing the fibroids to shrink.
Then the catheter is removed and a small bandage is
placed over the incision which is so small that
stitches are not required. The procedure takes
approximately 90 minutes.
