First off, be warned that Buddha statue has to be placed where it is
pure. That is, it would be highly irreverent to be placing the Buddha
statue in the bathroom or kitchen. It should also be kept at eye level and
not below it, as it is deemed to be irreverent looking down at any deity. It
also should not be kept in the bedroom unless it can be kept inside an
enclosure.
The ideal placement of the statue would be North East direction of the
room or house as it is the direction of knowledge and self-improvement.
It could be kept in the living room facing the front door or the east
direction. The Buddha would totally absorb and deflect any negative
energy coming in through the front door, if placed before it. It could also
be kept at the reception for bringing in more productive business.
Buddhists keep the statue at their altar, as most of them have a
permanent place where they pay obeisance to the God, very much like
the followers of other religions like Hinduism or Christianity.
Those who are into meditation or yoga, keep Buddha statue in their
meditation room / corner. The presence of Buddha there will help in
improving the quality of meditation and ability to concentrate.
There is also a popular belief that placing the statue of Buddha in the
East sector of the house will bring about detachment in the interactions
with others, while keeping it in the North brings detachment towards
income flow. Here detachment should not be taken in a negative
