There are many different types of audio:

some of which include, interviews, presentations, voiceovers, drama dialogue, ambient noise or sound, sound effects (SFX), diagectic sound,

non-diagectic sound, external diagectic sound and internal diagectic sound.

Diagectic sound means the sounds that come from in the world of the film, this can be anything from a person speaking to the traffic, on the other hand non-diagectic sound is the sound that the editors and directors put into the film to add more effect, this can be a soundtrack or explosions.

External diagectic sound is when you can hear music or sound from inside the world of the film but you dont know where it is coming from; this can be loud intense music but you cant see where its from or if you hear a car crash but didnt see it. Then Internal diagectic sound is where sounds are happening inside someones head for example thier thoughts and emotions.

Different Types of Audio

interviews- interviews are question and anwsers with important people to tell us nor imformation on a unknown tpoic, for example a new movie.

voiceovers are used when you need more explaining of the story, for example in shawshank redemption the voiceover is played a morgan freeman and he tells you more about the characters back story and how he has progessed over time. thisis good becasue it helps the auidnece understand the film more.

dialogue is very important foe most things becasue it is used in most films. dialouge is where the characters speak to one another. an example of this is where actors have to read of a script and remeber their lines. Dialogue helps drive the story forward, so we need to make sure the audience can hear what is beings said clearly. We do this by recording it using directional mics on set or by dubbing it in the editing stage using a sound recording booth."

ambient sound/ music - ususally used in horror films to create tension and antmosphere. they use eerie sounds and noises to make to tense. they use this to create atmosphere and draw the viewer in.

sound effects (SFX) - these are used in every film, sound effects make the scene more alive wheather its a horror or a comedy or a door slamming or people fighting. they are important becasue sound is everywhere and the sound effects portray what a film is.

Presentation - arent used a lot in films, but it is very impotant to a lot of pople, for instance, when apple does their yearly lauch of a new product, they will have a huge presentaion.
