MEET THE ARTIST: BODY AS A CONTEXT
WE CAUGHT UP WITH THE ARTISTS INVOLVED WITH THE BODY AS A CONTEXT FOR RECONNECTIONS PROJECT, WHICH WAS FEATURED AT THE RECONNECTING BRISTOL EXHIBITION AT COLAB. BY MOVING, DRAWING, AND SHAPING THE TRACE OF DISUSED SITES IN A CITY THEY EXPLORED WHAT NEW IMAGINARY LANDSCAPE COULD BE CREATED
In a series of live interactions throughout the day, performers embodied their memories of disused sites within Bristol, with movement accompanied by local sounds. With the suggestions for the public to sit, relax, close the eyes and allow memories to arise, they were provided with an armchair, a blank wall, drawing material and paper for people to pen down their thoughts. The combination of the presented work and the traces left on paper by the visitors formed coordinates of an imaginary map of a new time and space.
