ISSUE IV LOOKBOOK

As part of our Nocturnal Promotions we collaborated with Fawohodie, a brand under the Freedom Project charity which transforms traditional Ghanaian fabrics into western cuts such as jumpsuits and co-ord garms to create sustainable employment for young creatives in Ghana.

For Issue IV we're looking into 'Heirloom' – what, as a society or individually, has been passed on to our current generation and what we dispute, associate with or can learn from.

It was important to us that our lookbook followed through with the Heirloom theme and used as a platform to spotlight and support young designers who take traditional influences, such as traditional materials or processes, and incorporates a modern twist.

To explore this theme further in our collaboration we also partnered up with Bristol Textile Recyclers, and using their factory backdrop we fully immersed ourselves in all things textiles and tradition.

It was great to also use the lookbook as a platform to support the work of creative people of colour. From the Fawohodie designer and models down to the behind the scenes video filmmaker and editor, our lookbook is a strong portrayal and representation of how beautiful, empowered and multi-faceted people of colour are; which there is never enough of.

Check out the second half of the issue to find out more about the incredible work these organisations do.
