Last evening, Ramah Seminar held a closing ceremony for Tisha B'Av in
the San Simon Park which is adjacent to the Hava. Remembering
Jerusalem, praying for the welfare of the Jewish People, the State of Israel,
and for world peace were the main themes of the Ceremony.
A very special element was the fact that the ceremony was live streamed
from Jerusalem to many of our
Ramah camps all over North
America. If you would like to
watch the recording, click
HERE, and start the video at 11
minutes to view the main part
of the broadcast.
After Tisha B'av, we spent the
evening with Rena Quint, a
survivor who was a small child
during the Holocaust. Rena was
saved by series of five
"mothers" who took
responsibility for her, one after
the other, over the years of
forced marches, slave labor and concentration camps. Eventually she was
adopted by a family in New York, and attended Camp Ramah in the
Poconos in the early years.
