"NOAH" Ethnographic District ERGA | Page 6

2_ CONTEXT AND SITE - OPPORTUNITIES AND CONSTRAINTS W e note the opportunity, within a wider area, to connect-up a larger Cultural District. We should look at the wider area. We have here the elements of a bigger scenic Cultural District of potentially great value to the city. Nearby are the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Monument; the Karen Demirtchian concert hall; the Central Stadium; the soccer and tennis academy; the Ararat distillery and museum; the Noy winery, and, soon, we hope, the Dalma Ethnographic Village, which may become the core of it. We also are not in the center of Yerevan, we are cut off from it by the amazing Hrazdan Gorge. It contains many opportunities for enhancement and connectivity. It is already delightful, with its woodlands, riverside restaurants, its potential industrial archaeology and canal works, but it is neglected. 6_ DALMA VILLAGE_ A narrative of our study and design work to date
