NOAH_Ethnographic District ARMENIA CENTRAL Aragats 22 The Yerevan city context influenced the planning of site edges. The development, on North, South and West side responds to the city, at the same time creating landmarks at arrival points that draw interest in. The Central region is represented with large scale buildings that house cultural activities such as Museums dedicated to Arts & Crafts and monuments of Armenia. These front the main Tolerance Square together with religious institutions such as Church, Synagogue and Mosque. The square is the symbolic and geographical heart of the district where two primary pedestrian spines converge. Institutions such as Film& Media and Script Museum have a potential to thrive here. In true central region fashion, most of these buildings are cladded with red sandstone, with some contemporary materials such as render and glass, where appropriate. Yerevan Noah’s Ark Boathouse AECOM
