The Ouija Board comes from Spiritualism, a belief system where the living can talk to the dead. There is a belief that has been around for thousands of years. Many people wanted a way to answer unknown questions and solve issues that were left unanswered. It was also a way to reconnect with their dead loved ones. Spiritualism was very accepting in society and wholesome. Also, the Ouija Board fell under 'witchcraft,' and drew many people to play this game.

Before the Ouija board game, some people got in touch with ghosts by tapping on the wall. Later, the board was created and made in factories.  'Ouija' shows magic and mystery in its title. The Ouija Board began selling in stores for $1.50 in 1891. The Ouija Board was sketched in many newspapers during the great depression. Usually, the Ouija board game is used during Halloween or at sleepovers. Some people have even abandoned asylums, tunnels, or other buildings to play the popular Ouija board game. 

The Ouija board game has its consequences when you play, though. Many people go into a state of panic, possession, or even in some cases, murder and injuries have happened. After many people were possessed by playing  Ouija, the movie industry created many horror movies for the public. A doll named 'Annabelle' has also hidden away from the crowd.

After 'Annabelle' movies came out, the ticket box office made over 200 million dollars. The Ouija board game movies in the ticket box office made over 300 million dollars. These stories have gained popularity because they're haunting tales that draw the public's attention every year.
