FROM THE EDITOR...
RECOGNIZING MASTERY
IN PHOTOGRAPHY

e have some incredible photographers in this area, and I am pleased and
proud to say that a lot of them read this magazine. I have wanted to come up with a way to publically
recognize them for their technical skills and artistic talents since I began this publication, and I may have just
found the perfect venue.
I am going to try something “new” in upcoming issues...I want to acknowledge Masters of various photographic
specialties and areas of expertise. Each month I would like to feature ONE superlative image from each of the
following categories:
Photo Specialties
1. Travel Spot - Featuring photos from around the town, and around the world
2. Landscape - If the great outdoors is your thing, this is for you
3. Classic or Rockabilly Pin-Up - Classic 50’s or Rockabilly, we love pin-up!
4. Portrait/Headshot - Individuals, or groups
5. Wedding - Engagement to throwing the birdseed, and anything in between
6. Kids - Of any age
7. Glamour - Sensual, fitness, boudoir
8. Cosplay - Dressing up
9. Composite - Multiple images put together to make one that didn’t happen
10. Fashion - Haute couture to swimwear to jeans and flannel
I am certain we will not have every category represented in every issue - that will all depend on who submits
what images, and when. Determining which image gets the “top spot” for that category will be a completely
subjective decision, made by the magazine staff and whatever other photo professionals I can enlist to assist
in the critiques and selections.
It is my contention this addition will give new dimension to the magazine, and hopefully add a more universal
appeal, thereby broadening the scope of our readership. Basically, it is my hope that your images are seen
and appreciated by a much wider audience than simply the local market.
The success of this endeavor, or lack of it, will be completely up to you. If you like the idea and submit your
images for consideration - it can work. Without your assistance, it stands no chance of success at all. I hope
you are as excited about the possibilites as I am.
I would love to begin this project with the December issue. If you are interested in being a contributor to
this new “Master’s Gallery” send your images to [email protected]. Be sure you let us know which
specialty category you are submitting to (it may not be obvious). I hope to see you there!
Thanks. Until next month,
