Fort Chipewyan Festival of Trees Raises over $ 41,000 !
The event was entirely family-friendly and lowcost to community members . Featuring a tree auction Gingerbread House Contest , photos with Santa and Mrs . Claus , Decorate-a- Cookie , and Candy Cane Canteen . There was also a Wreath Decorating Contest , a huge Toy Raffle , a Gift Shop Corner , and a Teddy Bear Hospital . Great fun for everyone !

Population , Public and Indigenous Health
Allocated over $ 5,500 for the Positive Immunization Experience ( PIE ) program – an initiative to help children overcome their fear and anxiety of receiving needles – especially immunizations . The educational tools and resources for nurses and comfort strategies for families can help reduce the pain of immunizations for younger clients and establish strong coping mechanisms for future health services .
Allocated funds for the Homeless Health Initiative – supporting the physical and mental health of those without shelter ; including health services at the Centre of Hope and support for the Street Connect team .
Pharmacy
Committed over $ 815,000 to purchase and install and a multi-unit system-wide medication system at the Northern Lights Health Centre . Omnicell is a secure , integrated , automated dispensing system that deploys the latest hardware technology and smart software creates a safer , more efficient medication process and can be integrated with health record systems for effective patient care .
