The mission of NLDC is to empower the leadership of Nu Alpha Kappa with the skills to run their chapter effectively during
the upcoming school year. It exists to foster chapter development and inter chapter networking and bonding, to enhance
the leadership abilities of our elected and emerging leaders, and to unify the chapters of the Fraternity under the current
agenda of the National Executive Board of Nu Alpha Kappa. NLDC is an annual event to prepare our undergraduate
chapter officers and emerging leaders for the coming academic year.

Esteemed Brothers of Nu Alpha Kappa,
Brothers,
Welcome to UCLA!
Welcome to the 17th Annual National Leadership Development
Conference in Los Angeles, California. Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity,
Incorporated was established with the belief and commitment
that knowledge gained by our brothers would transform into
acts of leadership thus impacting our respective universities and
communities in a positive manor.
As we embark upon the 17th Annual National Leadership
Development Conference, we take this time to reflect upon the
progress our great brotherhood has made over the years and we
re-dedicate ourselves to the principles of Nu Alpha Kappa.
It has been one of the great honors of my life to lead our beloved
Brotherhood. I have the privilege to work with an outstanding
group of NAK Men at the National level, inclusive of the National
Executive Board (NEB) and the National Alumni Association (NAA).
It is because of the dedication and vision of these gentlemen that
programs like NLDC exist & we continue to push the limits of our
collective capacity.
NLDC serves many important purposes, including giving brothers,
undergraduate and alumni alike, an opportunity to develop
leadership & professional abilities as well as to provide a forum to
strengthen the bonds of Brotherhood across the NAK Nation.
I am proud to present the official Program of NLDC 2014 to our
undergraduate and alumni brothers. I ask that you fully engage &
participate in this year’s conference - ask questions, give ideas and
think about the SOLUTION & betterment of OUR Fraternity.
My sincere gratitude goes out to all who contributed to this year’s
event, including: The Founding Fathers, Juan Lopez & the National
Alumni Association, Bob Beltran & the Rho Chapter, all speakers,
guests, moderators & the National Executive Board.
#NAKMENLEAD
Leadership is gained through education, experience, and having a
positive attitude. Your respective chapter elected you to serve at the
highest levels of leadership within Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity.
Believing you’re capable in leading the chapter forward is a
testament of your current abilities as a NAK.
However, your presence and participation throughout the next
three days will be crucial to obtain the highest form of leadership
possible.
During the next three days, I encourage you to ask questions, take
notes, give suggestions, share ideas, and most importantly, bond
with your brothers. In addition, this year’s NLDC is the beginning of
something great.
The National Alumni Association will be hosting the 2nd annual
Bronze Supper while hosting its own workshops for Alumni
brothers.
Finally, please join me in giving a big thank you to the Rho Chapter
(University of Los Angeles), National Executive Board (NEB),
National Alumni Association (NAA) Board members, and Alumni
Brothers who have contributed in organizing the 17th Annual NLDC.
Without them, this Conference would not be possible.
We look forward to your active participation in what will no doubt be
an historic National Leadership Development Conference.

Adelante!
