Gracefully Leading
Trinidad into the Future
by Antoinette Wharton
Hot Yoga on Main is a premiere
yoga studio located in the heart of Trinidad
on 134 W. Main Street. After being sought
out by Jay Cimino to manage the Phil Long
Toyota dealership, Lisa Camarillo uprooted
her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico to
make a new home in Trinidad.
“Jay Cimino didn’t want someone to just sell
cars, he wanted someone to wrap their arms
around the town,” says Lisa as we discuss her
business model.
Being an intricate part of any town
takes getting involved with the community,
and that’s exactly what Camarillo has
accomplished in her three years of living in
Trinidad. She opened Hot Yoga on Main on
June 2nd, 2013 as she says she really missed
practicing yoga and having a sauna. Both of
which were lacking in the quaint town until
she opened the business. Not only did the
studio bring those two aspects, but its future
is brighter than ever.
Hot Yoga on Main offers highly
competitive monthly rates as well as
traveling class passes with no expiration date
for those who frequently visit the town.
If you’re a local, your first class is
free. There are a wide array of
classes including
their own brand
of sacred hot
yoga, family and
youth yoga classes,
as well as the

in collaboration with studio manager Gina available to check them out.
Ojeda and instructor Jessica McCorkle
brought an innovative program called Lead
Gracefully into the practices at Hot Yoga
on Main. Initially, Shier produced the
program to introduce yoga and meditation
to the school system without the fear that
can sometimes be associated with the
art form. The program was designed to
provide healthy and effective leaders within
the community. Now, taking it a step
further, Hot Yoga on Main has developed
their own trademark of yoga teacher
training evolving from two previous
teacher trainings independent from their
own studio. Incorporating also Shier’s
leadership model, the Lead Gracefully
Teacher Training is meant for anyone
and everyone.
“It’s not just about
becoming certified to teach yoga,”
says Shier. “More than yoga
teachers, we just want more
graceful leaders. Leaders
