More importantly, I realized that I needed to train just as much with my off-duty firearm as I do with my duty firearm. Off-duty firearms tend to be more concealed and officers need to train to draw from their off-duty holsters. Crisis time is not the time to find out how fast you can draw your concealed off-duty firearm. It is also a very good idea to carry extra ammunition. For my revolver I have a speed strip that fits perfectly in my pants pocket. Officers should do more than just qualify with their off-duty weapons. A digital simulator has many scenarios for concealed carry and off-duty situations. It is also a good idea to train in l
