Raritan Township Local 337 burns
down the bills of cancer treatment
On Oct. 13, Raritan Township Local 337 held a cigar night
fundraiser event to raise money in support of cancer patients
faced with overwhelming medical bills while fighting to overcome the disease. All proceeds went directly to a patient fund
within the Hunterdon Medical Center Cancer Unit to assist patients with the burden of day-to-day bills they may struggle to
pay due to the high cost of medical care, or to being out of work
while battling cancer.
Sergeant Matt Lawrence organized the third annual cigar
night with Vito Marinelli of Marinelli’s Pizza in Flemington.
While Shop Rite of Flemington donated the food for the evening, Marinelli provided his restaurant, staff and kitchen for
the event. This year, members of the community came together
and raised $5,000 for Hunterdon Medical Center. d
