Fighting for one of their own Local 92 members make sure their captain doesn’t have to fight cancer alone ■ BY NEIL VISTA When one of their own faced the fight of his life when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in September, Madison Local 92 stepped up to fight by the side of Captain Joseph Cirella. Fulfilling their mantra of “no one fights alone,” Local 92 held a fundraiser for Cirella, a Madison SOA member, last month. SOA President Sean Plumstead said members from both Locals came together along with the community to raise money to insure Cirella’s family will be taken care of. “This is a guy who mentored all of the superiors and all the members,” Plumstead said. “He puts us first sometimes before his family.
